Natalie Shearer was announced as a
National Merit Finalist. Every year 1.5 million high
school students apply to the National Merit Scholarship
Program, and only 15,000 students advance to
National Merit Finalist. While at ULS, Shearer has
excelled in various activities, including National Honor
Society, Beta Club, Student Council, French Club, the
ACT 30+ Society, and as Captain of the U-High Spirit
Steppers. Congratulations, Natalie!
Macy McCalip was awarded the Stamps

the year
Scholarship at LSU. The Stamps Scholarship is LSU’s
top scholarship opportunity for incoming students
in the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College. The
prestigious scholarship aims to provide elite incoming
first-year students with resources to help “cultivate
each scholar’s intellectual distinction, initiative, and
commitment to service, leadership, global knowledge,
and career exploration.” Stamps Scholars receive a
full cost of attendance for four years, with a maximum
of $14,000 for enrichment experiences, such as
study abroad programs or research opportunities.

The University Laboratory School's 2022-23 5th Grade Student of the Year is Camille
Tyson! Camille is the daughter of Dr. Gia Tyson and Chris Tyson ’93. Camille's
volunteer work, extracurricular activities, as well as academic successes, shine brightly.
