WELCOME | A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK
D
ear Cubs,
I love our Cub Community!
I have been around many
supportive communities, but all
of them pale in comparison to what we have
cultivated here at U-High. We may disagree
and push on one another, but it is all in a spirit
of love and wanting to be a better place to live,
grow, and learn. Never has this been more
evident with the loss of one of our graduates,
Cameron Robbins, Class of 2023. Our families
rushed to the aid of Will and Shari and their
family in their time of need, allowing them time
to grieve and heal. We all grieved with them and
gave them much needed space and support.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Throughout this school year, our students
continue to shine like no other. The Class
of 2023 received over $14 million dollars in
scholarships, not including TOPS awards. By
the way, over 95% of our students qualified
for TOPS! The Class of 2023 are attending
35 different universities around and out of
the country. Twenty percent of the class of
2024 scored a 30 or above on the March ACT
Assessment, with two of our students achieving
a perfect score! I have been told our high school
emphasizes athletics more than academics.
The data does not support that premise. We
have athletic and academic signing days for our
scholars, and we celebrate the achievements
of both. Athletic and academic scholarship
attainment are special and deserve recognition,
and I am so proud all our students get to
celebrate with their school families.
When you return this fall, you will notice major
improvements on our campus. Led by Kelly
Kelly and Cathy Rosenfield, we are creating
