To Our Community –
Navicent Health is committed to improving access to healthcare
while addressing the social determinants that inhibit a person’s
ability to achieve health and wellness, creating greater healthcare
equity for the communities we serve while minimizing healthcare
disparities.
The work we are doing here locally is receiving national attention
and setting an example for other healthcare providers to follow in
their communities. In fact, we received the American Hospital
Association’s prestigious Equity of Care Award in 2018 for our
work to minimize disparities and advance diversity and inclusion.
Our new strategic combination partner, Charlotte-based Atrium
Health, was also recognized as an honoree for this award.
Together, we are making tremendous strides to elevate health
and well-being through compassionate care for all people.
We officially strategically combined with Atrium Health on January 1, 2019. Through our combination,
we will enhance Macon-Bibb County’s position as one of Georgia’s leading centers for healthcare,
allowing those in our area to receive advanced medical services right here, close to home with no need
to travel to larger metro areas for the care they need. Over the past year, we’ve already taken steps to
bring new services to this area, including virtual care and telepsychiatry. As we move into 2020, we are
continuing to explore new services and specialties we can bring to the area.
What does that mean to you, the person living in central Georgia who may receive healthcare services
from Navicent Health? It means we are doing everything within our power to help you live your
healthiest and most fulfilling life by addressing your individual healthcare needs, right here at home, and
ensuring you have the necessary tools to stay well! We are making sure we meet our customers’ needs
with customizable, compassionate care and we are working outside the walls of the hospital, within our
community, to help our customers continue to lead their lives within the community without the threat
of hospitalization.
We are thrilled with all that we have been able to accomplish, for the benefit of our community, over
the past year and we are excited about all that the next year holds in store. We are grateful to serve
you, the members of our community, and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure equitable access to
care for each member of each community we serve. Thank you for your support, and for trusting us with
your care.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, FACHE
