Why incorporate staging in your practice?
Ů It reduces the stress on the owner and the veterinary clinic.
Ů It increases the percentage of accepted treatments.
Ů It maximizes the number of dental problems detected.
Ů It increases practice revenue.
How does staging work?
1. The veterinarian examines and reviews the radiographs,
creates a graphical record, and evaluates the overall oral
health of the animal.
2. The veterinarian explains to the owner the benefits of
staging the procedures and schedules the necessary
appointments.
3. The veterinarian assesses what can be done within
the available time (a 2-hour window) for immediate
treatment.
4. If additional treatments are required, they can be carried
out in stage 2 or, if necessary, in stage 3.
Are there risks to the Animals Health
from Anaesthesia?
Studies show there is only an increased
risk to the health of the animal if put
under anaesthesia for longer than 2 hours.
Therefore, by staging the procedures into
separate visits of 2 hour sessions, the use of
Anaesthetic is limited to one per session, and
so significantly lowering the risk.
Vet X-ray Dental Staging

X-Ray Dental Staging is after the initial examination of the patient,
the vet will discussing with the owner, what procedures are required
and the cost. Then vet will agree with the owner to spread out the
procedures over a number of appointments, done in stages. This is
beneficial to the Veterinary Practice by allowing time to be allocated
appropriately, thereby maximising the practices scheduling. As the
sessions are scheduled for only 2 hours, the animal has significantly
reduced risk to their health from being under anesthesia, as studies
show. For the owner staging the procedures, eases the financial
burden, as the cost is spread out over the specific time frame.
