HIS tireless efforts to honour an elite
Second World War covert regiment brought
Hayling to the attention of royalty.
And now Robin Walton has been recognised
by Her Majesty The Queen for his efforts in
highlighting our Island’s fascinating history.
Mr Walton has dedicated two decades to
researching and publicising Hayling’s heritage
– from 19th century land deals that shaped
the Island as we know it today, to heroic
efforts during the First and Second World
Wars.
And now he is to have the prestigious
British Empire Medal bestowed upon him in
the Queen’s New Year Honours List for his
hard work.
He is responsible for the Copp Memorial
on Sea Front, the patron of which is Prince
Charles.
The Prince visited the memorial in 2016
