SØHOLM - SONJA 2019
Once upon a time, by the coast of Bellevue, north of Copenhagen, the story of SØHOLM began. The production of
ceramics started in 1827. The clay came from the little Danish island Bornholm, and the “SØHOLM faience factory”
got even more from the little island - two apprentices, who in the years to come became the founders of what we
know as SØHOLM 1835 - located on Bornholm, in the city of Rønne.
The story began in 1968, when the children’s television series “Sonja
from Saxogade” captivated the Danish television viewers and shaped the
first SONJA stoneware. Now, 50 years later, we have updated the mood
board and are introducing SONJA 2019. A memorable blue winter sky
sets the tone of this visually stunning, high quality, modern stoneware
collection with an organic touch from the timeless Danish design period.

The heritage of SØHOLM Bornholm was in 1996 bought
by and incorporated into the aida family. Words such
as: proud, craftsmanship, original, old recipes, secret
formula and significant history are setting the tone, and
it is our duty to keep the story alive.
