CPD for New and Heritage Language Teachers
Action Progress
In the past year, PPLI have established a CPD framework to support teachers of new and heritage languages.
This includes a combination of training sessions, classroom observation and mentoring to support the
teachers individually and as a team.
In June 2020, PPLI initiated the pre-service training for teachers of new LC languages. 32 teachers from PPLI
and schools joined the two-week online training. They acquired essential information in preparation for a
new LC language curriculum and established the initial connection with each other through the virtual
events PPLI organised, such as the ‘getting to know each other’ interactive Padlet page.
