PPLI Annual Report 2020 - Flipbook - Page 26
Teachers expressed the need for establishing communication and collaboration with colleagues to boost
productivity and maintain solidarity. To meet these essential calls, PPLI planned meticulously and organised a
three-day face-to-face training programme in August. Following the public health guidelines, combining the
enthusiasm of the teachers and the creativity of the PPLI team, a total of eight training sessions were
organised successfully.

After the pre-service training, PPLI continued the CPD support for the teachers. Moving from theory to a more
practical hands-on approach, PPLI arranged regular CPD and clinic sessions interchangeably for teachers to
drop in with questions and practice with peers on using ICT tools as well as implementing new pedagogies in
teaching. To provide targeted support and care for teachers' well-being, education officers also arranged
regular meet-up and mentoring sessions with the teachers both individually and as a group.
To cope with the pandemic situation, Saturday classes of new and existing LC languages were moved online.
Online classroom observation was adopted to better support teachers of Saturday classes and other teachers
who teach remotely, and to provide them with timely feedback in relation to their teaching and practice in
the virtual classroom.
