PPLI Annual Report 2020 - Flipbook - Page 62
We shared a mix of engaging content about
food, dance, music and movies from all over the world
and lots of vocabulary for everyone to try out. We also
shared lots of info on careers, courses and real-life
experiences from Irish foreign language speakers living around
the world. We engaged several social media inuencers with an
interest in languages to increase the reach of the campaign. In
June, a popular young tik-toker called Cian Gannon tried his hand
at learning some Spanish while cooking and doing keepy-uppys.
Jess Glynn showed us what a ‘Day in the Life’ of a social media
inuencer looks like while trying to improve her Portuguese to
talk to her ancé’s Brazilian family. We also got an Arabic
cooking lesson from professional rugby player and travel
enthusiast Harry McNulty, who was born in Bahrain
and had a keen interest in learning Arabic.
