St Patricks College, Jaffna
Melbourne OBA
Our beginnings in Melbourne
St Patrick’s College, Jaffna is an esteemed educational institution established in
1850 in Jaffna, which is situated in the northern part of Sri Lanka. The old boys of
the college - who have migrated over the years to Australia - established an Old
Boys’ Association (OBA) in 1992.
Currently, we have Patricians - around 155 - living in Melbourne, the common
thread uniting all of us in the various age groups is our Alma Mater and the
Patrician sprit. The association since its inception has been growing in numbers,
in activities it undertakes, contributing to the support of the College’s ongoing
functioning and nurtured by our members over time. 2022 marks the 30-year
milestone of the OBA’s formation and we wish to commemorate the event by
undertaking to fund an urgent project of the College.
