Application for Re-opening of Provisional School.
Personal representations were made bu ELP• R. M. Beale
E.L.A. in 6eptember, 1942 requesting the re-opening of the
Provisional School at Croobyar. A subsidised school has recently been in operation at this centre. The usual application
form Ifv).s said to have been forwarded to the Department, but
there is no record of its receipt. Mr. Inspector Austin has
now investigated this matter but reports that the position has
altered since the original application form was filled in. He
states that there are now only 9 children at most who would definitely attend Croobyar if the school is re-opened. Details .
are given hereunder.
O'Brien Family. -
4 children - Have been attending Milton
but have moved a farm 2 miles beyond
Croobyar . and 4 miles from Milton could not conveniently attend Milton.

There is also vague mention of one child from each of
three families who may come to live at Croobyar if the school
should be re-opened.
Mr. Austin states that present numbers indicate there
is no justification for the re-opening of the school as a provisional. Only one family, the O'Brien's will be under any hardship if the school remains closed.
Lir. Austin recolinends that permission be granted to continue with the sUbsidised school until numbers are sufficient to
sJ-fy the establish .ent of a Provisional S&L ol.
