Chancellor’s
Welcome
The generosity each and every one of you
have demonstrated in 2021 has been nothing
short of inspirational. As we conquered
another year of uncertainty and disruption,
our University of South Australia community
came together in ways that will be felt in
generations to come.
One of my greatest honours as Chancellor
of the University of South Australia is leading
the Chancellor’s Club honouring so many of
you who have pledged more than $50,000
or have promised a gift to the University in
your Will. Similarly celebrating such gifts is
The Hetzel Group, named for the late Dr Basil
Hetzel AC, a former Chancellor at UniSA and
a renowned Australian medical researcher.
He would have been immensely proud to

Together, we can achieve something remarkable
numbers highlight our growing community
of true philanthropists, and we look forward
to welcoming many more members in the
near future.
This kind of generosity – and every donation
big and small and in between – brings
ground-breaking research innovations to our
community and education within the reach
of hundreds of students, who, in turn, will
spread the goodwill when it’s their turn to
shine.
It is important, now more than ever, to come
together and support our next generation
of leaders and thought provokers who, with
our support, will forge ahead to solve the
increasing range of issues and challenges
facing our community through research.
I would like to extend my sincerest thanks
and appreciation to each and every one of
you for your generosity and your very special
support.
Thank you.
Ms Pauline Carr
