OUR 2021 INDUSTRY
CENTER CITY HOTEL PERFORMANCE
2021 marked the beginning of the region’s comeback. Throughout the year, Philadelphia County hotel occupancy on Friday and
Saturday nights outpaced projections, hotel Average Daily Rate (ADR) outperformed forecasts in the city and region, and visitation
and spending were up. While a full recovery is still a ways to go, our goal is to get back to the record-breaking results we
celebrated in 2019 and surpass them.
2021 brought with it some much-needed business for Center City Philadelphia’s
hotels. In fact, hotels saw actuals above projections in all key metrics: occupancy,
average daily rate, RevPAR, supply and demand, and revenue, putting them on track
to make an even greater recovery by 2023.
