Training for Foreign Language Assistants
and Co-operating Teachers
Action 1.C.3
154 participants
PPLI continued to provide training for Foreign Language Assistants (FLA), their co-operating teachers, and
schools on the FLA scheme. For the first time this year, an information session for successful applicant schools
was held to disseminate key information about the FLA scheme and to help schools, teachers, and principals
plan for the arrival of their FLA. Support sessions were facilitated throughout the academic year to open
dialogue between participants, to model collaboration strategies, and to encourage professional dialogue to
troubleshoot any issues. In addition to this, competitions to generate resources for sharing and to foster good
practice and collaboration were organised. Sessions with Teacher Professional Networks were organised to
promote the competitions and to inspire participants with ideas for entries.
