Bunting was included to bring a fun display of the call to action Say ‘Yes’ to Languages to remind students
and teachers that languages are important in so many ways and we should embrace them at all stages of our
lives.
Stickers are an engaging way for the pupils to try out saying or signing ‘Yes’ to a variety of languages
including Irish Sign Language. They can decorate and personalise their work and Language Passports with
these or share them with family and friends.
Badges in a variety of 10 languages were also included to give the pupils an opportunity to learn to say
‘hello’ in many different languages and encourage them to teach fellow pupils basic greetings their own
home language.
Conference presentations
To inform MFL teachers, PPLI presented on the Sampler
Module at several conferences.
These presentations were very well received, with positive
comments on Zoom and Twitter. They raised awareness
about the existence and aims of the project. It also led some
teachers to investigate if they could become tutors.
We will build on the success of these presentations by
strengthening our collaboration with language TPNs and
cultural institutes.
