Korean is a popular TY module, offered in seven schools in Dublin and Wicklow. Despite teacher numbers
decreasing for the 2021-22 academic year, a greater number of students have accessed this module. PPLI
supports Korean teachers with CPD and training sessions, while the Korean Embassy also helps to promote
the Korean language and culture.
This module gives mainstream post-primary schools access to Transition Year Korean modules which allows
students an opportunity to learn about Korean language and culture. It is an opportunity to promote Korean,
which is a non-curricular language and to introduce and promote awareness of the Korean culture.
