SEASONAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COMMERCIAL TRUCKS
WINTER (DECEMBER - FEBRUARY)
SPRING (MARCH - MAY)
1. TIRES
• Check tread depth & condition.
• Add air to adjust for cold temperatures.
• Inspect for damage or uneven wear.
2. FUEL
• Treat fuel with anti-gel additive to
prevent freezing.
• Drain water separators frequently.
• Inspect fuel lines for leaks & damage.
3. COOLING SYSTEM
• Check coolant level.
• Inspect hoses & radiator for leaks or cracks.
• Verify the heater & defroster are working.
4. AIR SYSTEM
• Drain air tanks to prevent moisture freezing in the lines.
• Inspect air dryer & replace the cartridge if needed.
• Check air lines for damage or leaks.
5. BATTERY & ELECTRICAL
• Test battery health & charge capacity.
• Inspect cables & terminals for damage.
• Check alternator & starter operation.
6. LIGHTING
• Inspect & clean all lights & reflectors.
• Replace dim or non-functioning bulbs.
7. INSIDE CAB/SLEEPER
• Test bunk heater & auxiliary power unit (APU).
• Stock emergency winter gear (blankets, food, etc.).

• Test battery health & charge capacity.
• Inspect cables & terminals for
corrosion or wear.
• Check alternator & starter operation.
2. COOLING SYSTEM
• Flush radiator & refill with fresh coolant if needed.
3. SUSPENSION
• Inspect shocks, bushings & other components for damage.
4. FRAME & UNDERCARRIAGE
• Clean thoroughly to remove road salt & prevent corrosion.
• Inspect for rust or cracks.
5. AIR CONDITIONING
• Test & recharge A/C system if necessary.
• Clean or replace the cabin air filter.
SUMMER (JUNE - AUGUST)
FALL (SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER)
1. TIRES
• Monitor pressure closely;
heat increases tire pressure.
2. BRAKES
• Inspect brake pads, rotors, & drums.
• Test brake air system operation.
3. FUEL
• Inspect fuel injectors & filters.
4. ENGINE OIL & FILTERS
• Perform oil & filter changes as per manufacturer intervals.
• Check for oil leaks.
5. COOLING SYSTEM
• Verify cooling fan operation.
• Inspect & replace worn belts or hoses.
1. TIRES
• Install or inspect winter tires,
if applicable.
• Ensure proper traction
for icy conditions.
2. WINTER PREP
• Recheck coolant freeze point & levels.
• Test & clean the block heater.
3. ELECTRICAL
• Test battery & alternator again before cold weather sets in.
• Inspect wiring for insulation wear or damage.
4. SEALS & WATERPROOFING
• Inspect door & window seals for leaks.
• Lubricate hinges & locks to prevent freezing.
5. WINDSHIELD & WIPERS
• Replace worn wiper blades.
• Check washer fluid & fill with winter-grade fluid.
