River Edge Chairman Letter
Hello everyone,
Thank you for your interest in the grand mission of River Edge: to deliver services and supports that
promote recovery, resilience, and inclusion with dedication and pride.
I have served on the River Edge governing board since 2013, and I assumed chairmanship in June 2022. I
am also involved with addressing homelessness and other community needs. I am active with the Macon
Tracks Running Club and also coach the Special Olympics softball team.
In this issue we draw attention to key community activities that promoted recovery and inclusion for all.
In September:
River Edge celebrated National Recovery Month. We hosted activities that highlight the transformative
power of recovery from substance use disorders.
River Edge team members and friends joined together for a You Matter Out of Darkness suicide
prevention, awareness and response walk.
The Storytelling Show returned to Macon to amplify the voices of individuals with intellectual and
developmental disabilities and give another opportunity for their true participation in our community.
River Edge Foundation hosted its second annual golf tournament at Idle hour Golf & Country Club.
River Edge sponsored these activities to stamp out stigma, bring accurate knowledge, build partnerships
and strengthen hope for brighter tomorrows.
Because of your support, more in our communities can build lives worth living. You help make life better,
and we are grateful. You make life better!
With sincere gratitude,
Steven E. Corkery, PhD
Chairman
River Edge Board of Directors
