NB Remind students that we are only
looking at drinks here, so milk added to
cereal does not count.
Maths teacher tips:
Keep the discussion again on the
fractions in relation to the proportion of
the pie chart (more than half chose
orange juice -> more than half of the pie
chart).
Good idea to also remind them to check
the totals as they go – total fraction
8/8, total percentage 100% total
degrees 360. This spots any small
calculation errors quickly before
proceeding to the chart.
It’s good practice to include the degrees
in the pie chart once each sector is
measured out. They do not appear on
the slide, as adding them manually will
help the students remember this part of
the process.
