Sodexo - Social Impact Report 2023 - Flipbook - Page 10
A socially,
culturally and
gender balanced
workforce
In 2020, we were
the first hospitality
business to publish
our ethnicity pay gap
and have recently
published our
third report
Our gender
pay gap (median)
was 11.23% in 2022,
significantly below the
national average for all
employees of 14.9%
(ONS 2022)
In 2022, we participated for the first time in the Investing in Ethnicity
Maturity Matrix receiving a ‘Star Employer’ assessment in recognition
of the initiatives we have implemented to date.
The ethnicity pay gap is a wide-reaching societal issue and tackling this will take time. In our experience, reporting
transparently for three consecutive years now, we have seen that progress is not a linear thing and there is no easy
fix to improving diverse ethnic representation in management and more senior positions. As such, while we have been
disappointed to see our ethnicity pay gap (median) increase in 2022 from 0.40% to 3.27%, we are not disheartened.
Our focus on race inclusion continues to be a key priority and we are making incremental progress.
