Sodexo - Social Impact Report 2023 - Flipbook - Page 4
Introduction
Sodexo’s mission has been to improve the
quality of life of its employees, customers and
the communities it serves since 1966. In the
UK and Ireland, we have been publishing our
ethical and sustainability commitments, which
support this mission, for eight years now.
In 2021 we launched our Social Impact Pledge,
which is our fourth ethical manifesto. This
Pledge prioritises 22 of the commitments
within our comprehensive social value strategy
which covers four impact pathways: people;
planet; places, and partners.
We are, however, not complacent and there’s always more we can do.
As a purpose-led organisation we know we can’t make progress alone. We have
strong relationships with our clients, suppliers, government and many charities
and third sector organisations who collectively help us to drive the impact that
we all demand.
We know all businesses have a direct responsibility to positively contribute to
society and improve the communities where they operate, we take this seriously
and will continue to ensure this is embedded in all that we do.
This report proudly shares the progress we
have made since our last update in April 2022.
In our reporting we are focused on understanding the difference we are making
for individuals and communities. Where applicable, we have measured our Social
Return on Investment (SROI) using the National TOMs (themes, outcomes and
measures) framework.
