I don't let age hold me back, nor do I
feel constrained by the societal norms
associated with aging. So, I wear what
I want, do what I want, and worry
little about what others may think.
Maintaining my health and wellbeing is crucial in this journey. Lately,
I've been struggling a bit with my
health, and I'm now giving it more
attention. I nourish my body with
nutritious foods, engage in purposeful
exercise, and prioritize rest and relaxation. These habits not only enhance
my physical vitality but also contribute
to my overall sense of well-being and
happiness.
But an age-positive lifestyle goes
beyond just physical health. It's about
nurturing my mind and spirit as well.
I actively seek out new experiences,
challenge myself to learn new things,
and remain open to the possibilities
that each day brings. Whether it's
exploring a new hobby, diving into a
topic I've always been curious about,
or simply taking a moment to revel
in the beauty of nature, I continuously
seek opportunities for personal growth
and fulfillment. Creative inspiration
is essential to me, and I strive to express my own creativity in various
ways.
Genuine connections are also
indispensable on my journey. I cherish
the relationships I've cultivated over
the years and prioritize staying connected with friends, family, and my
AndBloom community. These connections provide me with support,
companionship, and a profound sense
of belonging that enriches my life in
countless ways. And perhaps most
importantly, living an age-positive
lifestyle means challenging the stereotypes and biases that society often
attaches to aging. It's about advocating
for equal treatment and opportunities
for people of all ages and fostering
a culture of inclusivity and respect. In
embracing an age-positive lifestyle, I
discover joy, fulfillment, and a deeper
appreciation for life's journey. It's a
journey characterized by growth, wisdom, and the boundless possibilities that each passing year brings.
YOU HAVE ACQUIRED A HUGE SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING, WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A DIGITAL CREATOR? WHAT DOES IT TAKE
TO REACH THAT LEVEL OF SUCCESS?
When I turned 40, I gave birth to
Finn, my son. After years of work
and travel, I decided to take a mama
break and spend all my time with Finn.
After about two years in the baby
bubble, I began to broaden my horizons again and suddenly realized that
I was in my 40s and entering a new
era, as a mother, as a mid-lifer, not
young, not old. I had a huge need for
inspiration; I wanted to see how other
women were experiencing this phase
in terms of lifestyle, fashion, beauty,
nutrition, basically the whole picture.
But it was nowhere to be found.
Because I had worked as a
fashion photographer for many years,
mainly with young models, I decided
to do something for my peers. In 2018,
I shot my first portrait of Willemijn,
a sixty-something, to determine for
myself if it would inspire me. And it
did tremendously. I decided to interview every woman as well, and in
