Kaz B
Kaz B is an actress, podcaster, and
author (Confessions of a Dominatrix is
reviewed in this issue). Let’s get Up
Close and Personal!
What were you like at
school?
Very quiet and studious - a bit weird! I
preferred animals to people.
Do you have a pet you could
tell us about, or a childhood
pet /animal related memory?
I raised my cat Tabstick from 3 days old
and hand-fed her. She’d sleep in the hood
of my dressing gown as a baby and later
on my head. She had super intelligence
and sussed people out in seconds. Her
look of distaste at certain people never
failed to amuse me, as did her love of
belly rubs and all kinds of human food
she’d pilfer. Sadly Tabstick passed away
this September. I have 3 other tabbies
called Princess Scrabby, Fiji and Fraggle.
Have you ever lost an item
you’d still love to get back,
and what/why?
Most material things are replaceable
so only sentimental items are missed,
can only be changed from one form
to another”, and this resonated with
me deeply. I immediately felt that the
supernatural is a form of science that
we are yet to understand.
Are you a ‘curl up in comfort’
or a ‘go out and raise hell’
kind of person?
I have my moments! I love a good night out,
talking absolute nonsense and shaking up
the dance floor but a good Netflix film, a
cuppa and a cuddle is unbeatable.
Do you have a favourite
item of clothing / designer /
brand?
I don’t tend to opt for designer brands,
though I do like Ted Baker.
I prefer more eclectic pieces and will
buy from the states or visit charity
shops For work I wear lots of PVC and
leatherette but when off duty I love
girly dresses, blazers, skinny jeans and
platform trainers or boots.
If you could own any painting
/ sculpture / piece of art
what would be and why?
I’d go for Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator
Mundi as it’s worth over $450 million!
Having said that, I already own the most
priceless piece of art in the world… An
artwork of Tabstick which my subby got
for me, created by the political cartoonist

What was the first thing
you wanted to be when you
grew up?
When I was growing up I wanted to be a
writer - which was inspired by children’s
novelist Enid Blyton. I found myself lost
in her magical worlds for hours and
wished I could fly away in a magical
chair to play with goblins and pixies.

photographs of childhood pets.
Bandeiras. To others it may not be worth
much, but to me it’s precious.
How would you fare in a
zombie apocalypse / world
order collapse type scenario?
I’ve watched so many zombie/
apocalyptic movies that I’m sure I would
manage pretty damn well! I’m not a fast
runner but can swing a zombie brain
cruising device pretty well. I’d head
deep into the countryside, store up
supplies and disguise our compound,
military style. Those brainless bags of
flesh would run screaming from the
zombie slayer!
If you could meet anyone
living, dead, or fictional who
would it be and why?
I’d like to meet The Vampire Lestat from
Anne Rice vampire chronicles - I’m sure
we would find a lot of common ground.
Oscar Wilde would be a fascinating
conversationalist as well and I’m sure
we could while the night away over a
glass of absinthe.
If you could snog anyone
living, dead or fictional, who
would it be and why?
Someone like James Dean or Elvis

whether it be the sea, the mountains or
a place of education. A place for me that
combines all your creature comforts with
beauty, relaxing and sightseeing is Cyprus.
What book should we read?
My publisher’s trilogy is a must read
and gives an eye-popping, outrageous
look into living in America’s worst
prison in the deserts of Arizona:
Hard Time by Shaun Atwood.
The Life of Pi was also very
memorable and a wonderful tale of a
friendship between a man and a tiger
born out of their instincts to survive.
What track/band should we
listen to?
My favourite all time track is Armin Van
Buuren’s Shivers. It’s hauntingly beautiful
and I feel moved by it every time.
What activity/hobby should
we get into?
Taking time to sit and think (without
judgement for yourself or others.) We
fill our lives with noise and activity but
rarely remember to make time for peace.
Fave film ever, also fave
horror film ever?
Goodfellas/Pulp Fiction
There’s so many I love! I recently
watched The Platform which is a thought
provoking take on dystopian society and
so well done with such a small cast and
few locational changes. Zombie movie I
am Legend with Will Smith is my all-time
fave, but brings me to tears at the end.
What socially frowned upon /
risque activity do you actually
recommend we try at least
once? Something we’d love
but you probably wouldn’t
mention to your mother...
Oooh where we do we even start?!
What’s frowned upon nowadays?
Bondage and mind-control role plays
are my idea of fun with my special
friends but if you want to push the boat
out, pegging is still quite taboo!
Can you tell us something
about yourself we are
unlikely to already know?
I host a podcast called Reality is Shite
with my friends Judge Jen, Deadpan
Ally, Virtuous Victoria and Eddie.
I also used to play with a disembodied
spirit as a child, much to the absolute
terror of my family….
