Task description
Students brainstorm what they know about the target country/ies

• Name and describe some features of the target language country/countries such as
geographical features, weather, landmarks, and food.
• Brainstorm and share what is known about the target country/ies.
• Airplane template (page 51).
Expected time taken 30 - 40 minutes.
• Teachers should play music from the target country to set the scene.
• Ask students to imagine they are arriving in the airport of the capital city.

Outline
• Ask them to brainstorm what they think they will see/hear/feel/smell when they arrive.
• Students write their answers to the sentence starters (I hear, I see, I feel, I smell) using the
airplane template and share their answers with their partner and then with the class.
