What do I know now?
Task description
Students give an overview of the similarities and differences they have discovered throughout the module
about their own country and the target country/ies.

• Identify and explain some aspects of the target language country/countries in areas (food, holidays,
hobbies etc.) which they have studied throughout the module.
• Compare and contrast their findings about the target country/ies with what happens in Ireland.
Resources
• Venn Diagram - graphic organiser.
Expected time taken 40 minutes.
If there are students from other
countries in the class, these
students could also offer
observations from their native
countries to be included in the
overview.
Task Outline
- Using a Venn Diagram graphic organiser (page 64), students
record similarities and differences they have found between
Ireland and the target country/ies under the headings they
have studied throughout the module, i.e. customs, food,
hobbies, holidays, festivals etc. or from the students’ general
observations.
