Task C:
Preparing a traditional dish
Task description
Students prepare a PowerPoint presentation to show how a traditional Spanish dish is prepared. Students
work on a chosen recipe. The presentation could contain a list of basic ingredients and steps supported by
pictures.

From this, they create their PowerPoint using images to illustrate the instructions. If PowerPoint is not an
option, students could create a poster and draw the ingredients and instructions. Choose some students
to present their work to the rest of the class or do smaller group presentations.
Expected time taken 40 minutes to 1 hour
Name of traditional dish: Tortilla de patatas
Ingredients: patatas, aceite de oliva, cebolla, sal, huevos
Key Language
Verbs: pela, corta, prepara, echa, espera, quita
Appliances: la sartén
It is important that students focus on the language chunks they need. They are not expected to learn the
grammatical categories.
