Message from the
President/CEO
Dear Friends,
This fall, as we approach the Jewish High Holiday season, I feel excited and ready to
enter this period of renewal. Rosh Hashanah is the start of the Jewish New Year, and
the rich symbols associated with the holiday - the round challah, apples and honey,
and the trumpeting shofar - are meant to ground us in the present moment and
ready us for a healthy, sweet, and uplifting year ahead. Many of these symbols are
also circular, representing the cyclical nature of our individual lives and the world
around us.
This upcoming season of renewal feels especially relevant to me as I’ve just
completed my first year as President and CEO of JCC Greater Boston. The
experience of being here this past year has been one of curiosity, purpose, and joy, and I am thrilled to
continue this meaningful work, supported by our incredible staff, to bring many new and exciting
opportunities to our JCC community this year.
JCC Greater Boston is embracing this new year in many different ways:
• Offering an extensive list of exciting new programs for adults, families, teens, and kids of all ages;
• Introducing new opportunities for membership through our Community Fit and Community Play options;
• Launching new member benefits such as JWork, our dedicated shared workspace at the
Leventhal-Sidman Center that supports remote work on any schedule;
• And getting started on a substantial renovation to our lobby, entryway, and teen lounge, which will
create a multitude of beautiful new spaces to convene as a community.
In every season, our mission at JCC Greater Boston is to create and sustain an inclusive, welcoming, community
where everyone feels like they belong. We hope you’ll take the opportunity this fall to try out a new class, enjoy
a live performance with your family, or stop in for our open house in September to explore all that the JCC has to
offer. Whether you’re already a member, have experienced the JCC as a guest, or are entirely new to our community, there’s a place for you here at JCC Greater Boston. We look forward to embracing all that the New Year will
bring at the JCC this fall with you.
Sincerely,
Lily Rabinoff-Goldman
