Our Hobbies
Task: Class survey about hobbies
Topic Overview
This topic should enable students to recognise and use some very basic phrases to talk about themselves.
Students will learn to introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details
such as where they live, how old they are and give simple physical descriptions. Students may take material
that is relevant to their life and the lives of others from a wider pool of information provided.
Task Description
The aim of this task is for students to carry out a survey to find out what the most common hobbies in the class are.
Students can do this in small groups and then report their findings back to the class.
Learning Outcomes
• Recall and pronounce new words for hobbies and the numbers 1-20
• Ask someone about their hobbies
• Tell someone about your hobbies
• Present the results of a simple survey
