Creating the
right spaces for:
wellbeing
Enhancing people’s wellbeing is key to our mission of
supporting people to live full and aspiring lives. People’s
wellbeing can be influenced by many factors. Our
Wellbeing Outcome model enables people to set goals
and measure progress across eight areas of wellbeing.
Pay continues to be a huge issue across the sector.
We raised the salaries of our lowest paid staff from
£11.00 to £11.50 per hour; although we believe that our
support staff deserve much more.
In November we ran our fourth annual Wellbeing Week,
which offered a range of activities on a budget such as
yoga, chair exercise, online cook-a-long, healthy cooking,
walk and talk, and massage.
Thanks to a Mental Health Investment Fund grant
from Surrey County Council (see p17), and support
from JP Morgan Chase’s Force for Good programme, we
will be converting our Wellbeing Outcome model into an
interactive web app. We hope this will be ready to use by
mid-2024.
We launched our new wellbeing strategy in November
inclusively developed with people and staff from across
the company – looking at the actions to further improve
our offer and support. We won a national Great Places
to Work Award for Wellbeing in 2023.

Due to the dire economic situation in the UK, financial
wellbeing is currently high on the agenda. People
working in care and receiving care are likely to be
among the most affected by the cost-of-living crisis.
