UK-wide IFA Network and Wealth
Management Group, Head of Enterprise Risk
The Situation
Our client, one of the UK’s largest IFA
networks, with nearly 5,000 advisers,
had recently appointed their new Group
Chief Risk and Compliance Of昀椀cer with
Halsey Keetch’s assistance. The 昀椀rm
contacted us with the mandate to secure
a second-in-command for this individual,
whose focus would be on enterprise risk,
i.e. a combination of operational and
prudential risk, spanning all facets of
the business. Alongside its IFA network,
the 昀椀rm has a £10bn AUM asset
management division, a wealth
management platform and a mortgage
broker - plenty to keep new hires busy.
Our Process
Based in the west of England, the
organisation had a certain catchment
area in terms of the population it
usually covers. However, a hybrid
working approach meant that
applications were welcome and
valid from candidates all over the UK,
whilst a niche skill set was required,
so we cast the net wide in our talent
mapping to generate a substantial
longlist of ideas for consideration.
The Outcome
In the end, very solid options presented themselves in the close proximity to
our client’s head of昀椀ce. We were able to extract an exceptional, high-potential
risk professional from one of the UK’s major 昀椀nancial institutions who made a
decisive start in his new role in spring of last year. He was also quick to join in
with team building exercises, demonstrating his football skills in an inter-divisional
tournament in the 昀椀rst week of his tenure!
