place. And I would just write because I needed some form of expression to
help me. If I look at the timestamps from all of my poems it's like 3am, 4am,
5am - it's all these insomnia times, or the Witching Hours as I call them. It
didn't feel creative at the time, it just felt like a necessity to write and put
my learnings into some form of what just happened to be
poetry. Each poem is a learning from my own life, from
my own traumas, from my own healing, where I9ve gone
`right I'm going to put this into something that is solid and
concrete that I can use9. It started to help me. And before I
knew it, I9d got to the point where I had 30 poems! Even
though it was like my soul on paper I thought `this is really
cool, I could help others with this - this is really amazing9.
But the thought of publishing it was also terrifying! So I
did some Googling - ` Can I self-publish?9 I found out I
could on Amazon, and got an illustrator to illustrate every
poem - I gave them the concepts of what I wanted, put
it together and just went for it. I submitted it on
Amazon and now it's selling all over the world, which is
amazing.9 The three Little Books (Recovery,
Con昀椀dence, and Mindfulness) have sold 1200 copies
between them, which has inspired Sophie to start work
on another four! Among them, the Little Book of Loss,
inspired by the loss of her grandmother Pam. `I wrote
and read a poem for her funeral, and so many poems
came from that time that I thought `there needs to be a
book9! I put it to her that in her own way, she is building and supporting a
community of people in much the same way4

hadn't even thought about it like that8, she
says. `Not until talking to you this very second
had I realized that I was trying to create that
and go `let's share the love and create this
thing where we're together and we're
