him welcome, laughing at his jokes and merciless teasing. We had Lottie
and you became an honorary aunt. In 2007 you came to Australia and
Bali with us for a special holiday. You completed
the Sydney Bridge walk with Pete, fed the koalas
in Taronga zoo, relaxed by the pool in Bali and
were ring bearer and witness for our wedding.
You never complained about the difoculties life
threw at you - they were just challenges to
overcome. You lived your fullest life always with
a smile on your face. Sarah I am so grateful to
have had your friendship for all these years - you
were part of our family. Pete, Lottie and I will
miss you so much. I know so many others will too4sleep tight our Sa.
Rev Michael Grandey
When I asked people for comments about Sarah, the word 8giving9 came
up over and over again. She would give herself and her time generously,
doing anything for anyone. She worked tirelessly for the beneot of this
village community over the years, involved, among other things, in the
Parish Council, in the running of the Parish Hall, in Nympton News, and in
the Arts & Crafts and Open Gardens events. For the church, she served
on the Church Council, was PCC secretary and for a time Churchwarden.
She played a central role in organising the Revel. She was developing
her gifts as a lay minister and loved leading services. I think it9s fair to say
that she couldn9t have done most of the amazing thing she did do if it
wasn9t for the support of others 3 her friends, of which she had many 3
those who knew her over many years, but particularly, over the past few
years, Chrissy, who was her rock through times of difoculty. Speaking
personally I shall, like you all, miss Sarah so much. She was always
encouraging and gave good advice, in a gentle, calming way. She had a
good sense of what the village community was about and what would
work here in practice.
