A not-for-pro昀椀t association
A big thank you to everyone who has helped make our Community Café
such a success. We opened our doors on September 13th and each café has
been a triumph. So many of you have helped in
different ways. From setting up at such an early
hour, putting up paintings and bunting to printing
posters, making tasty cakes and soup, arranging
beautiful nowers, helping with cooking, preparing
food and drinks, serving and washing up. But most
of all a BIG THANK YOU to
our loyal customers, many
of whom have visited us
each café. And we have had many new visitors,
some local, some from afar. Always room for more
new faces! We have had many lovely comments
and I have tried hard to accommodate all 8table
cloth9 suggestions. NB There will be sprinkles for
frothy coffee next season and chips are being
considered for 8Egg & Chips9! Chess has proved popular, thank you Peter.
If anyone has any other suggestions do let me know. All will be considered.
However, remaining open throughout the year may still not be possible as
we rely on a small but very willing band of people and many of us go away
over the summer. Going forward if anyone would like to join us, we would
love to hear from you. It doesn9t mean turning out every café, but a few
would be great. Or there are numerous tasks behind the scenes. We are
opening every Second Wednesday and Fourth
Saturday from September 2024 to Easter 2025. A
regular time certainly seems to have proved
popular. Our orst café next season is Wednesday
September 11th from 9 3 2 pm. Early birds from 9 3
9.30 will get a free coffee if they join us for a
scrummy breakfast. Looking forward to welcoming
you all again in September.
Any comments/feedback/suggestions most
welcome. Thank you.
