READY - GET SETTER - GO!!
You may remember we moved to
Kings Nympton last May and
introduced ourselves via our
beautiful English Setter, Sadie. We
took Sadie in following her losing a
litter of puppies. In her past she was a Crufts
show dog and had a glittering career. We rehomed her
7 seven years ago and she was a much loved member
of the family; a fantastic dog, very loving and affectionate and
great with the kids. Sadly Sadie passed away on Boxing Day.
A very upsetting time all round. We felt she
was irreplaceable. But 3 hot off the press4Not
one but two English setter puppies will
shortly be arriving at Huxleigh to join the
Stevens family. Otto cannot wait to show
them off. No doubt you will see them as
they befriend themselves to everyone in Kings
Nympton; both dogs and two legged residents. And of
course, when they are able to, join the 8dogs and their
dog walkers9 table outside at the community café, as Sadie so
often did. Neil, Otto and Claire.
There9s a new dog on the block at Rosebud
Ranch as well. Lucy and Nick lost Jim just
before Christmas, but they have now
welcomed Grey Girl4a wolfdog. Wolfdogs
have wolf DNA but have been bred to have
a temperament suitable for family life. Grey
Girl comes with an impressive backstory4she was bred by
Watermill Wolves, whose
dogs are used in acting and
education. Her dad, James Bond, is one of
their best screen dogs, and she appeared with
him in the video for Rag and Bone Man9s
`Anywhere Away from Here9. `We feel very
honoured to be entrusted with her,9 says Lucy.
