2024 01 Spring with bleed V4 - Flipbook - Page 54
We all know there are bits and pieces
that the recycling lorries won't take, so
here9s how to recycle rather than bin.
Cedric Pulford collects waste
domestic polystyrene (which
goes to SWM Waste in
Barnstaple, saving you the trip!)
crisp and snack packets ,
which go to Tesco. All done on
a voluntary basis4just drop
bagged materials off in the porch
at Edge House.
In addition you can drop waste plastic packaging at the Tesco
superstores in Barnstaple/Crediton/Tiverton etc. Perhaps with a bit
of pressure other supermarkets might do the same!
And Currys/PC World takes in old electrical items to strip them for
re-useable components.
We are continuing to appeal for help with meeting the costs of printing the
hard copy of the magazine. Costs have gone up, and income down, but we
feel changes like addition of extra pages and the move to full colour are
more than justioed by the fact that we can better renect the community.
Many people have indicated that they would be happy to contribute towards
printing costs, so we are asking for voluntary contributions so that 200
households can still have a copy delivered to the door! If everyone who
receives a copy donated just £10 per year we would be able not just to
stay as we are, but also expand and/or add more editions.
So please, if you are happy to donate, cut out this box, 昀椀ll in the details
below and deliver it with your donation to Martin Pailthorpe at Old Inn
