impression of meeting a man with multiple university degrees... but he isn't
a biologist, nor did he study wildlife conservation. He just has a big heart
that makes everything else unnecessary. And the impact that he has on
otters is bigger than any university degree.9 At
his base on the Lichfield Estate, Dave has just
returned from picking up another orphaned
cub in Bristol, bringing the number on site to
21. If he is phased by being featured
alongside such iconic species as lions, sharks,
elephants and wolves, he doesn't show it. `The
otter is an iconic species,9 he says. `And there
are very few places in the world that have the
facilities that we've got and are able to offer
crews a chance to olm without disturbing the
rehabilitation process that we do.9 And Dave
has nothing but praise for Claudia and her
crew. `They were fantastic,9 he says. `She was
very clued up and passionate about what she
does. And that came across in the whole crew. You could see they loved
their work. And I think the olm is going to be a real eye-opener. Because
we9re in North Devon4home to Tarka the Otter4it's iconic story, it's an
iconic species and we're lucky to be able to do what we're doing for that
species.9 While Claudia has continued to travel the world, the crew at
Montreal9s Blimp TV has been busy editing. The series will air on Canada9s
TV5 from May, and Dave9s
edition (a full hour, minus
ad breaks!) will be available
to view on catch-up4
