A Better Way to Manage Your Everyday Money - Book - Page 17
that unattended hole in the bottom of your bucket will continue to gush money no matter how
many jobs you have.
Let’s not forget those who honestly feel that the solution to money troubles is improving your
relationship with your money. I’m not sure what that even means. Do I have a relationship with
our pickup? Well, kinda. We’ve been driving Sassy for seventeen years. How can you not feel
something for a half-ton Silverado that has served you faithfully for that long?
But, I digress. If you have a love/hate relationship with the cash that flows through your life then
perhaps you should examine your feelings about those pieces of paper in your wallet (real or
digital). But, maybe it’s not about your relationship with your money so much as your feelings of
not being in control of your finances. That we can fix by you continuing to read this book. By the
end you should have a really good feeling about your ability to actually manage and be in control
of your household finances.
It might help to make notes as you read. There’s plenty of white space in these pages on which
you can jot your thoughts about your situation relative to what you are reading. Doing so might
help convince you that your income is not the problem. How you manage your income is where
improvement is needed.
