CIOB Conservation
Conference - Engage.
Involve. Empower.
Our annual Conservation Conference returns on 12 March 2025, a highly anticipated event that
will celebrate the creativity, dedication and expertise within the heritage and conservation sector, and
will be held at the architecturally significant Congress Centre in Central London. This year, the theme
of our conference will be: Engage. Involve. Empower
Chaired by Rebecca Thompson FCIOB, Director of
Property at St Paul’s Cathedral, and Stewart Wright
MCIOB, Head of Building Conservation at English
Heritage, the event will showcase industry experts
and their insights into the intricate work involved in
preserving our unique historical buildings and sites. Their
passion and deep knowledge of conservation in the built
environment is second to none and will help to deliver
an excellently curated event, with a line-up of fantastic
speakers.
The 2025 conference focuses on the people behind some
interesting heritage and conservation projects, exploring
how creativity shapes every part of the process. From
artistic drawing and innovative materials to education
and visitor engagement, this year’s theme highlights
how human ingenuity drives heritage work, and how
conservation professionals combine old and new
techniques to bring out the best in our historic buildings.
The conference will take place at The Congress Centre,
a modernist style office built in 1958, one of the earliest
post-war buildings to be listed, at Grade II*, and it is an
apt location, and a venue we are delighted to welcome
you to on 12 March. Do join us in a few weeks to
celebrate the creativity and collaborative spirit that keeps
our heritage alive for future generations.
