TARGET 2: WOMEN’S HEALTHCARE AND WELLNESS
Epsilon Omega Omega continues to raise community awareness of critical health issues impacting women,
especially, African American women. The primary healthcare areas • Breast Cancer Awareness and
Prevention Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. owns a digital AKA Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Unit that
travels to various locations and provide mammogram screening; • Heart Health through fitness activities and
creating community Walking Clubs. • Nutrition and Wellness emphasizes healthy eating and lifestyle
changes. • Care for the Caregivers places emphasis on taking care of those who take care of others.
TARGET 3: BUILDING YOUR ECONOMIC LEGACY
Epsilon Omega Omega provides programs for• Personal Financial Planning and Asset Accumulation;• Credit
Repair and Monitoring seminars; Supporting Black Entrepreneurship and Spending Your Black Dollar 365
with Black Businesses 365 days a year.• Operation AKA Assist focuses on implementing programs to bring
assist and direct attention to the plight of the homeless.
TARGET 4: THE ARTS!
Students are exposed to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on visual and performing arts and by
showcasing talent through the exploration of writers, entertainers and various other artists through a
• Salute to the Harlem Renaissance Period and Salute to the Black Arts. Activities include art events, poetry
slams, dancing, painting, and performing arts.
TARGET 5: GLOBAL IMPACT
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority engages in programs designed to enhance the international impact of the sorority
and make a difference worldwide such as • National Global Impact Day and Global Assistance Activities that
provides awareness and assistance to the underserved in international areas populated with people of color
such as Soles 4 Souls collection and distribution of gently worn shoes; Eyeglasses Collection; Pillowcase
Project uses pillowcases to make dresses for little girls and shirts for little boys in Haiti; and Refugees in
America Assistance Program (RAAP) assist refugees and their families to integrate into the American
lifestyle.
Our signature program is #CAPSM which is the acronym for College Admissions Process. It is designed to
assist students in their efforts to enter college by providing a hands-on approach that includes all the steps
from researching various colleges to actually completing the application process.
In addition to the program targets, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority expands its community presence through its
International Community Impact Days where chapters engage in simultaneous activities that will benefit the
community such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January); Pink Goes Red For Heart Health Day
(February); AKA Global Impact Day (April); AKA International Day of Prayer (August);
National HBCU Week (September); Breast Cancer Awareness (October); AKA Caregivers’ Day (November)
“SCHOLARSHIP”
THE PEARL COMMUNITY CENTER FOUNDATION, INC.- 501c3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
Education is one of the primary tenets of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. On August 5, 2003, Epsilon Omega
Omega Chapter purchased a house which it converted into an educational Community Center. This
acquisition allows the chapter to extend its outreach programs and address the needs of the surrounding
community. The Pearl Community Center Foundation is a 501c3 organization established by the members of
Epsilon Omega Omega Chapter. It serves as the community center, educational and scholarship branch of
the chapter. Each year, Epsilon Omega Omega provides approximately $10,000 in scholarships to high school
and college students in the Macon and Middle Georgia community. Scholarship Applications are located on
our website and in the local high schools. Fundraisers are held to raise funds to provide these scholarships
and implement the international target programs.
