ORIENTATION FOR FRESHER
WEEKLY WORKSHOP ON RUBRICS
The objective of the workshop is to groom the teachers of
Sree Matriculation School to understand about Active
Learning Strategies for Teaching Learning Process. The
session was given on the basics of rubrics with its types,
how rubrics related to Bloom’s, to frame rubrics for
Lecture,
Assessment,
Assignment,
Projects,
Case
Study and practiced by the faculty members to frame
rubrics on their own for their course.
The objective of this Orientation Program is to groom the
newly joined faculty members to understand about SNS
Culture. The sessions were aligned in such a way that the
flow of SNS gets into them in a slow and steady way.
Faculty members came to know about the SNS Culture,
Structure , In – Class activities, Teaching pedagogy,
Teachers’ Manual and Workbook, Outcome based
education , Rubrics , Guidelines for Courseware, AAA Log
book , Course File and Student Mentoring structure.
WORKSHOP ON CREATING A
POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
The session was handled by Ms. R. Monisha, where the
importance of class room environment was highlighted. 20
Faculty Members from SNSCE and 22 from SNSCT attended
the workshop. Activity was carried to bring out the most
flexible class room arrangement, that will kindle the
interest of students towards learning. About Mobile and
flexible seating was discussed for cooperative learning and
easy class - room transitions. Outdoor learning increases
academic learning, and exposure to nature has social,
emotional, and physical benefits for students.
CLT / SNSCE
WORKSHOP ON CRITICAL THINKING
The workshop was initiated by Dr. P. Prakasam,
Director/CLT, followed by the importance of
Innovative Teaching Techniques by CLT member, Ms.
V. Preetha. Faculty members from all departments
attended the workshop. It provided a path to make
the students think in more clear and rational way. It
also helps them in developing the assets of problem
solving abilities, analyzing ability, and planning skill.
