REWARDS
OF FAITH
GREAT
During later years we collect memories of
emotional, physical, and spiritual hardships
that can threaten our faith. The beautiful
gift of years is the witness, wisdom, and
willpower they provide as tools to guard our
hearts from all that threaten our trust in
God. The memories of where we’ve been are
our testimonies that keep our spirits ready
for the promises yet to be realized.

Faithfulness
As with love, faith is an active choice that
requires commitment. When we actively
and consistently seek God’s hand in all
circumstances of life we are rewarded. These
rewards can be subtle. He may speak to us in
a manner that seems trivial to others, such as
through the kind words of a stranger to help
lift our spirits in a particularly painful moment.
Our Sunday School students can look at
scars as evidence of healing. Mature faith
rewards us with the ever-growing gift of
gratitude for our “grown-up” healings. With
this tested faith we can face the future with
excitement and expectation.
