Pastoral Care a nd Well being
At All Hallows’ School, we believe every moment is a pastoral care moment.
The life of an All Hallows’ girl is multi-dimensional and students join a community in which wellbeing, positive relationships
and resilience are nurtured. We believe this provides our girls with the best possible opportunity for spiritual, academic,
personal and social growth.
On entering the All Hallows’ community, students join a smaller House community, which brings together girls from Years 5
to 12 to participate in a range of activities including House assemblies, the Arts Festival and Sporting Carnivals. Each House
is led by a Head of House who is responsible for the overall leadership and wellbeing of the students in Years 7 to 12. With a
diverse and vibrant student community, our School is committed to ensuring each girl develops a sense of connectedness.
This connectedness establishes strong links between students, teachers and parents. Pastoral care of students in Years 5
and 6 is the responsibility of a dedicated classroom teacher, who provides a nurturing and a caring environment for our
youngest students. Our qualified counselling staff and our registered nurses further enhance our pastoral care and wellbeing
approach.
Our evidence-based whole-school wellbeing framework AHSfitforlife, informs our curriculum and pastoral practices and
underpins the development of our students’ holistic wellbeing. AHSfitforlife prepares our students to discover the right
balance; to manage their wellbeing and equip them with positive strategies for leading a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Our ‘Ways to Wellbeing’ strengthens our students’ understanding of the Spirit of Mercy, nurtures a resilient, agile mindset,
encourages positive emotions, introduces the practice of mindfulness, embraces individual character strengths and builds
habits that promote fitness and wellness.
We also place a high priority on academic care, encouraging positive relationships and opportunities for meaningful
participation and contribution that fosters, develops and nurtures student learning.
An All Hallows’ girl is encouraged to be a self-leader and a supporter of every All Hallows’ girl. Your daughter will feel welcomed
and valued, allowing her to be the best she can be.
