The Hallowian 2020: Vol II - Flipbook - Page 24
“I just wanted to thank you and the Past Pupil’s Association for the
really lovely Liturgy last Saturday; despite COVID-19 changing our world
it was wonderful to see our Community in action, in communication
and in solidarity of purpose.”
Past Pupils’ Liturgy:
– Dr Liz Crane (1984)
Keeping us connected during COVID-19
We experienced so many cancellations in 2020, including all our scheduled reunions of the ‘0’ year
cohorts, and our Annual Past Pupils’ Mass and Morning Tea. We were able to keep connected however
with our inaugural online Past Pupils’ Liturgy, which combined a much-loved version of Angeli performed
by Senior Choir, a beautiful reflection by Angela O’Malley and a video version of Parayer of the Faithful,
contributed by Past Pupils of all ages, from all parts of the world. It proved a touching and comforting
reminder that no matter how far away we are, we are all still connected by our shared All Hallows’
history.
“That sense of being part of a caring
community that lasts through the
years was created through today’s
liturgy...especially through the ‘prayers
from afar’. Many thanks to all who
contributed, particularly the current
pupils who practised; the organisers
who planned; and the ‘IT-Wizzes’ who
made it possible. Happy All Hallows’
Day for the 1st November!”
– Helen Radley (nee Yore)
(Boarder 1967/68)
“It was a privilege to be part of the school once again and most
enjoyable to revisit the many great memories I have of AHS.”
– Margaret Henry (1968)
“Abundant thanks to you and everyone involved in this very
beautiful and meaningful liturgy and the sharing of it through
the link. What a special way to celebrate everything that is the
All Hallows’ spirit. The chapel and the wonderful music from
the Senior Choir unites us in a way that is almost as good as
being there and perhaps has allowed some of our older Past
Pupils to be part of the liturgy who would have been unable to
attend due to frailty, illness etc. even in normal times. ”
“Thank you for the effort your team put into the liturgy which
I have just watched. I found a tangible connection between
my living room and the chapel and between myself and the
other past pupils. The choir is excellent and the selection of
the two meditative pieces were just right. I enjoyed ‘Angeli’
though it was smilingly robust in my day! Sister Mary Celine
(Taylor) used to make the organ in the gallery dance. You
could feel the promise of ascending through the nine choirs
of angels, landing with the Seraphim and actually getting to
heaven.
“Just wanting to say how lovely the
online liturgy was this morning! Thankyou for all your efforts in being able to
arrange for this to happen, I appreciate
the amount of work that goes on behind
the scenes to make these online events
happen. I have already received a
number of messages from friends who
have been living further afield for a long
time who loved being able to tune into
the liturgy.”
Covid has been a disguised blessing in that some of us have
not had the opportunity to celebrate with the school for a
very long time. Thank you for the opportunity. ”
– Zita Denholm (1950)
– Donna Clifford-Jones (1980)
“I have watched with delight the wonderful and very moving video of the
All Hallows’ Day Liturgy. I wanted to say Congratulations and a very big
Thank-you to all the people responsible for this brilliant production.”
– Carole Hoffman (1960)
“Congratulations-a great job that was beautifully done and executed.
“I just wanted to express my deep appreciation for being
connected into the virtual Past Pupils liturgy. While I was
not able to ‘participate’ at the preferred time, I have since
shared in the experience by viewing the liturgy. It was really
beautifully done inclusive, welcoming, and exuded hospitality
– Catherine McAuley would have been very comfortable I’m
sure.
Although I could liturgically follow the tight structure re my theology
days, the ritual ran absolutely seamlessly, and was appropriate for all
past pupils, regardless of where they are currently on both their faith
and personal journeys. We all sit in differing slots, yet you managed to
capture, I believe, a deep, engaging and open faith opportunity that
was not preachy, for girls to dip in and out of as they felt able to.
I know many people contributed to the liturgy – please pass
on my thanks and congratulations to them. There is always
a co-ordinator and I imagine this was you – a brilliant job –
thank you. ”
The Liturgy was inclusive and authentic, and would have given those
who engaged a really lovely sense of how our lives at All Hallows’
cradles us in one of God’s palm and hand, whilst reaching out to help
others, as we have always committed to do and followed through with
our Mercy in Action Programs both internally and outside the school.”
– Dr Lee-Anne Perry (former Principal)

“It was a truly inspiring
production. A H Day with a
difference. Angela, what a
wonderful testament to your
AH connections! I was so
proud to have had even a bit
part in it. The AH spirit is alive
and well.”

‘Keeping Connected’ Liturgy
and for all that you are doing

Oklahoma. My goodness!
It brought a tear to my eye
seeing Gabrielle after all this
time.”
