Introducing
Magnolia Place:
A Place for Reflection and Remembrance

The Hallowian | 2019
A new and special part of the School is Magnolia
Place, an area on the Kemp Place side of Adderton,
which the Sisters of Mercy have generously allowed
to be transformed into a contemplation space and
garden.
Part of the purpose of Magnolia Place is also
to acknowledge and honour those girls in our
community who passed away while they were
students at All Hallows. Plinths within the garden
feature plaques with their names.
Magnolia Place is a beautiful expression of light,
texture, landscape and natural elements. Within
the space, there are quiet spots to sit, paths to
wander and touchpoints on which to think and
focus. The garden tells a lovely story of connection
and continuity—so poignant to us as past pupils.
Mosaic sculptures created from old teacups from the
Mothers’ Network’s collection are a special feature.
The Past Pupils’ Association was pleased to make a
financial contribution to the Magnolia Place project,
and you are encouraged to take a moment to enjoy
its gentle beauty next time you visit the School.
