ARR 1988 - Flipbook - Page 69
We are home. We are
Four seasons, sun, moon
and stars, seeing ourselves,
signs mirrored in the earth.
We are home. We are
Five-armed seabeings,
shellbuilding, dying,
reliving, feeling tentacles,
legs and eyes in the murk,
perching on coral reefs,
seafloor crawling swimming
dim waters, flinging
our fins in the mud of
flooded lands, stirring
sands.
We are home. We are
Six-legged things, flitting on
wings. Creepers probing,
planting roots, plodding and
prowling. Uplands rising,
icesheets sliding,
seas shrinking. Pangea shaking,
breaking. Camosaurs roaring,
roaming the earth. Fur-pelted
treeclimbers, pinfeathered
sapsuckers, red-petaled
sunlovers, overroving land, sea
and sky, only to die.
