Conceiving Jesus (8) - Flipbook - Page 7
Upon learning the true meaning of Isaiah 7:14, it’s clear it is
not a prophecy about Jesus. In summary, it is telling us about
a king who will be protected by God from being destroyed by
his enemies. The king will know when God is about to
intervene when the child in the story is old enough to tell the
difference between good and evil.
The writers of the New Testament spun a different tale about
Isaiah, claiming it’s about a coming messiah, who would be
called Immanuel.
It’s interesting to note that Jesus was never called Immanuel
in the New Testament except in the passage where Matthew
attempts to change the original meaning of Isaiah 7:14.
In addition, this biblical story was happening in real time and
Jesus allegedly came on the scene 750 years later.
Therefore, it makes no sense that Isaiah would tell Ahaz that
God was going to intervene in his military conflict 750 years
in the future.
Remember
The scriptures found in Tanakh (Hebrew
Bible) are not always translated correctly
into the Greek translations. Bible versions
of translated Greek promote the false
messiah Jesus claiming he started a new
religion much different from the one the
Jews practiced. Many of the original
Hebrew words were translated into Greek
to mean something very different from the
original text.
