Jesus: Messiah or Myth? - Book - Page 41
The New Testament : “The Son (Jesus) is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” Colossians 1:15
Tanakh: Then say to Pharaoh, "This is what the Lord says,
“Israel is my firstborn son.” Exodus 4:22
During my time as a Christian, I listened to pastors give
sermons where they admitted the concept of the Trinity was
mysterious and difficult to understand. If these people would
actually open their eyes, read Tanakh and listen to what it says
about God being One, they would stop going round in circles
with this nonsense.
The New Testament: “Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the
son and of the holy spirit. “Matthew 28:19
Tanakh: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One.”
Deuteronomy 6:4
While doing the research for this book, I came across a
very old article I wrote about Christianity where I said
something to the effect that the Jews had to sacrifice animals
to atone for their sins before Jesus showed up on the scene. I
kind of cringed at my ignorance back then but realized it
wasn’t my fault I believed that lie.
The fact, and it is a fact, that the Jews never were
required to sacrifice goats, lambs or any other creature to be
forgiven for their transgressions. This is total and utter
nonsense Christianity needs to perpetuate in order to keep its
followers believing that Jesus is the “sacrificial lamb,” who
died for the sins of the world.
