Jesus: Messiah or Myth? - Book - Page 42
When it comes down to receiving the Lord’s
forgiveness, repentance is the key, as well as a commitment to
changing one’s behavior. And this makes all the sense in the
world, as what would be the point of being on the planet if we
weren’t held responsible for our own mistakes?
It is the errors we make in life that often bring us to our
knees and help us to realize we have the God-given power
within us to become the very best version of ourselves. This,
my friends, is the greatest way we can praise our God and
reflect Him all that we think, say and do.
That being said, here is one of the false statements in
the Christian bible made by Paul about how the sacrifice of
Jesus was necessary to be made pure and holy in the sight of
God:
“And by that will, we have been made holy through the
sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews
10:10
Conversely, Tanakh says this:
“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite
heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17
As I continue to study Tanakh, I keep a running list of all
these contradictions and it grows larger every day. I am often
shocked at how so many have seemed to miss these
discrepancies. But again, for some, burying their head in the
sand seems to be an ideal way to put off the inevitable.
“Ignorance is not bliss - it’s oblivion.”
