Building a third-generation,
family-owned business
Ron Griesemer, Owner and President of Johnson
Heating|Cooling|Plumbing credits his father, Clifford, as the
driving force behind the establishment and growth of the
company, which has become a trusted name in heating,
cooling, and plumbing services in Indiana.
Community engagement is a core value for Johnson
Heating|Cooling|Plumbing. Griesemer explains that their
partnerships with local organizations are a way to show
appreciation to their customers and give back to the
community.
“My father purchased Johnson Heating and Cooling, located
in Greenwood,” said Griesemer. “He merged two companies,
keeping the Johnson name and established the new of昀椀ce in
Greenwood.”
“Partnering with Girl’s Inc has been a constant,”
said Griesemer. “Girl’s Inc encourages girls to
be strong, smart, and bold while focusing to
navigate economic, gender and social barriers.
We have supported their various fund raisers
and have provided new equipment and service
free of charge at their place of business.
Contributing to improve the life of a young girl
not only helps her but can bless the generations
that follow.”
Ron Griesemer, gained valuable experience as an apprentice,
working side by side with his father.
“My father laid the foundation of Johnson Heating|
Cooling|Plumbing decades ago, and I am grateful that he
allowed me to become the second-generation owner of our
family-owned business,” said Griesemer.
Building a family business that stands the test of time is no
small feat. Griesemer emphasizes the crucial role of family
business owners in making decisions that shape the entire
operation and impact the employees.
Griesemer praised his community and its talented workforce.
“The best people in the state of Indiana live in Johnson
County,” said Griesemer. “Johnson County is a stable
community with higher paying wages and continues to grow
in population. We have amazing, top-notch schools and jobs
seem to be readily available for those wanting to work. For
anyone wanting to grow a business in Johnson County, I
believe the opportunity presents itself today.”

Griesemer’s ultimate goal is to ensure that this family
business endures for generations to come, with hopes of
passing on the leadership torch to his daughter, Caroline.
“Growing up, Caroline spent many hours doing appropriate
tasks within the company and now, as a college graduate,
she is working full-time in the of昀椀ce and taking additional
training courses in our discipline,” said Griesemer. “In other
words, Caroline is learning the ins and outs of what it takes
to move this company into a third-generation, family-owned
business.”
