NATHAN
& LEAH
HUELSEBUSCH
PRESIDENT & CHIEF
OPERATING OFFICER,
TAXMAN HOSPITALITY
GROUP
Making a community through craft
beverages and innovative local cuisine.
A dynamic and thriving franchise, Taxman has become a
beloved local 昀椀xture in growing downtown Bargersville.
Offering a unique experience that combines craft beers,
locally sourced cuisine, with a warm community atmosphere,
Taxman is a business with a unique style and holds a special
place in the hearts of Johnson County residents.
“Leah and I both graduated from the University of Cincinnati,”
said Nathan Huelsebusch, President of Taxman Hospitality
Group. “Leah studied Communication and I have an
undergraduate degree in Finance and a master’s in Taxation.”
“Leah and I have complementary skill sets that work well
together. She understands the marketing, branding and
public relations side of the business and I focus more on the
昀椀nancial side of the business,” he said.
The seeds of Taxman were sown during Nathan’s time as a
tax accountant with Deloitte in Belgium.
“In our free time, we enjoyed traveling to the famous
monastery-based breweries, called Trappist Breweries, and
some of the acclaimed mixed fermentation breweries like
Cantillon,” said Mr. Huelsebusch.
Their passion for beer soon translated into home brewing, as
Nathan and Leah attempted to recreate the beloved 昀氀avors
of Belgian beers.
“On my commute to Cummins in Columbus, I would pass
this rundown building on the corner of Baldwin Street and
I’d spend my drive dreaming about making it a community
brewery,” said Mr. Huelsebusch.

Nathan and Leah’s dream would become reality in 2013
when they purchased the building. The brand’s name pays
homage to Nathan’s background in taxation, while the logo
draws inspiration from the Benjamin Franklin quote: “nothing
is certain except death and taxes.”
“You will notice the tax theme plays out in all areas of the
Taxman business,” he said. “For example, all of our beers
have tax or 昀椀nance related names, and our labels draw
design inspiration from tax forms.”
Taxman Hospitality Group has recently added a modern
Italian eatery called Pizza & Libations, a coffee shop and wine
cafe known as Cellar’s Market, and Up Cellar, a contemporary
steakhouse and wine bar.
“Leah and I couldn’t be more grateful to
have the support from the Johnson County
community and be able to call Bargersville
home to so many ventures,” Mr. Huelsebusch
added.
Re昀氀ecting on the favorable business environment in Johnson
County, Nathan highlighted the community’s unwavering
support and willingness to revitalize the town. As Bargersville
continues to evolve, Taxman stands as a shining example
of what happens when entrepreneurial success meets a
supportive community.
